My Journey
Back in 2008, a family member needed a website, and that’s when my adventure began. Armed with determination and a trusty Google search, I taught myself how to build websites from scratch. The process fascinated me—I fell head over heels for the magic of turning ideas into digital reality. Soon, I was offering my services to family, colleagues, and friends, turning my newfound skills into a part-time side hustle fueled by love and enthusiasm.
Balancing Creativity and Tech
I’ve always been drawn to both the technical and creative aspects of web development. Every time I learned a new function or mastered a design concept, it felt like unlocking a secret door to endless possibilities. But it wasn’t until 2016 that I stumbled upon Canva—a game-changer that revolutionized my approach to graphic design.
Canva: My Creative Playground
Canva swept me off my feet. It was love at first sight (or click, rather). I dove headfirst into the Canva rabbit hole, soaking up knowledge like a sponge. Suddenly, I had a powerful toolkit at my disposal—one that allowed me to create stunning branded marketing materials, elevate my social media management business, and deliver next-level designs to my clients.
A Multimillion Rand Venture
During 2014 to 2018, I embarked on an exciting journey in the farming industry. Leveraging the power of social media platforms like Facebook, I built a multimillion rand company from the ground up. It was a rollercoaster ride of growth, challenges, and unexpected twists. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances led to the company’s closure, but the experience left an indelible mark on my entrepreneurial spirit.
Green Thumbs and Coffee Beans
Beyond the digital realm, I find solace in two simple pleasures: gardening and coffee. Tending to plants, coaxing life from the soil, and watching blooms unfold—it’s my therapy. And as for coffee, well, it’s my faithful companion. It doesn’t ask questions; it understands. Whether I’m designing, coding, or sipping a cup of joe, I’m fueled by passion and curiosity.
